DANIA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — A plane engine caught fire on the runway Thursday at Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport.
Flames engulfed one engine on the Dynamic Airways Boeing 767. Airport spokesman Greg Myer told WSVN-TV that the fire was quickly put out.
There was no word on any injuries but passengers could be seen walking toward the terminal. No further information was immediately available.

Dynamic is a small airline that connects Fort Lauderdale, New York, Venezuela and Guyana. No one answered at the airlines’ listed headquarters in North Carolina.

Is it just me, or does it seem a little unwise to deplane the passengers through the forward left exit if the fire is in the left engine, ~60 feet away? There are several other ways out of the plane, including a forward right exit.
