A site dedicated to monitoring air-traffic control conversations has recorded what it says is a back-and-forth between the JFK control tower and the Emirates Airlines flight boarded by Faisal Shahzad, a suspect in the failed Times Square car bombing.

“I have a message for you to go back to the gate immediately, so make the left turn when able,” an official can be heard telling a pilot. “I don’t know exactly why.”

LiveATC.net founder Dave Pascoe told TPM that the recording is authentic.
