Though the government has been officially reopened, the 800,000 workers who have gone unpaid during the shutdown will likely not see a paycheck until late next week.

According to a Friday Washington Post report, it will take some time for the massive system to be up and running again as employees submit timecards for approval and the Treasury Department disburses “off-cycle” paychecks.

At the earliest, the checks will likely be cut Thursday, Friday or Saturday of next week which could be problematic for employees already struggling to make ends meet after over a month of lapsed pay.
