In perhaps her starkest lie yet, White House counselor Kellyanne Conway said with a straight face Wednesday that it’s purely Democratic spin that the current fight, which could lead to a shutdown, centers on President Donald Trump’s demand for a border wall.
“Let’s not all acquiesce to the ridiculous sound bite that this is about a wall,” Conway said to the Fox and Friends hosts. “They’re trying to make ‘wall’ a four-letter word but the President has been talking about border security all along.”
Trump helpfully chimed in a few minutes later with the following tweet, in which he himself clearly equates border security to the wall.
In our Country, so much money has been poured down the drain, for so many years, but when it comes to Border Security and the Military, the Democrats fight to the death. We won on the Military, which is being completely rebuilt. One way or the other, we will win on the Wall!

As even the most casual observer of the fracas knows, congressional Democrats and the President have been stuck at a standstill for the past couple weeks due to Trump’s insistence on getting $5 billion for his border wall and Democrats’ flat refusal.
In recent days, Trump seems to be softening his stance and may accept a deal lacking wall funding to avert a partial government shutdown just before the holidays.
Watch Conway’s whopper here:

The rock, Conway, get back under the rock and stay put.
She is good at her job. It’s just that her job is to state alternate facts that favor the president, no matter how absurd.
Oh geeeez…

Now about that wall…
Nancy-1 … Trump-0
Pelosi, “…the votes aren’t there…” Dec 11, 2018
Dec 18, 2018 - President Trump on Tuesday retreated from his demand that Congress give him $5 billion to build a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border, backing down amid acrimonious GOP infighting that left him with few options four days ahead of a partial government shutdown.
From Charles Pierce, “…he’s as full of shit as the Christmas goose.”

like I’ve said, he doesn’t really want the wall anymore, he just wants something to whine about.
Because this was one of his huge campaign issues and if he runs again he won’t be able to use this to show what a great deal maker he is.
I’m desperately hoping we won’t see him in 2020.
