Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, said Tuesday morning that Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani’s comments on conversations about Trump Tower Moscow could point to criminal activity, if President Donald Trump lied about them under oath.

“Certainly, it smacks of illicit negotiations and dealings with an adversary, with Putin’s henchmen,” he told CNN’s John Berman. “It may well be [illegal] if he also lied under oath or other contexts. The fact is Putin had something on him, which may be the reason why he issued a statement about the Trump Tower meeting that was plainly false, why Trump Jr.’s testimony may well be false insofar as he is saying ‘I didn’t tell my father.'”
