NEW YORK (AP) — Attorney Gloria Allred says she’s no longer representing a former contestant on “The Apprentice” who has accused President Donald Trump of unwanted kissing and groping.
Allred is famous for advocating for women who accuse powerful men of sexual harassment. She didn’t disclose a reason for her split with Summer Zervos.
The decision came days after a New York court said Zervos could proceed with a defamation lawsuit against the Republican president.
Zervos says Trump hurt her reputation by publicly denying her claims that he subjected her to unwanted advances.
Most of the legal work in the lawsuit was being performed by a different attorney, Mariann Wang, who continues to represent Zervos.
Allred said her firm’s withdrawal “has nothing to do with the merits of her case against President Trump.”
Honest Question: Has Allred ever tried and won any of these recent cases she jumps into? It seems from the public persona, her name seems to get settlements. So, it feels like here, no easy settlement, gonna have to actually work and try the case so she’s out.
Gloria Allred seems like certain bad PR for anyone pursuing a legal case.
Her law firm is professional, excellent attorneys, always well prepared in court. Settlements save an enormous amount of judicial time. There is nothing wrong about settling.
I wasn’t saying there was anything wrong with settling in and of itself. It just seems like she often rides in on the cases with the biggest PR value, and then we hear nothing more. Just struck me as odd.
Clients pursue Allred, she doesn’t chase them down. The bad PR she might get is because she’s doing unladylike things in advocating for same sex marriage and gay causes and women abused and battered by men. Mostly she gets slammed because she dares to be a woman while doing these things.
