Another Roger Stone associate, Jerome Corsi, has been subpoenaed by special counsel Robert Mueller, the New York Times reported Wednesday. Corsi’s lawyer told reporters that Mueller will likely ask Corsi about his conversations with Stone.

Mueller appears to be homing in on Stone, a political trickster and one-time adviser to President Donald Trump. Stone exchanged emails with Guccifer 2.0, an online persona alleged by Mueller to be a front for Russia’s hacking operations. Stone also made public statements during the 2016 election that gave the appearance that he had advanced knowledge of information WikiLeaks would publish that had been stolen from Democrats and the Clinton campaign.

Asked for comment on Corsi’s subpoeana by the New York Daily News, Stone pointed to an InfoWars story that Corsi wrote in March 2017 in which Corsi claims he was the source for an Aug. 21, 2016 tweet Stone sent, claiming that “it will soon the Podesta’s time in the barrel.” The tweet referred to Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman, John Podesta.

“Everything you need to know is in the story,” Stone told the Daily News.

Corsi’s connections to Trumpworld date back to the Obama years, during Trump’s birther days. Corsi has written books — including one, in 2011, titled “Where’s The Birth Certificate?” — in which he claimed the President’s birth certificate was fake. A career conspiracist who has worked for World Net Daily and InfoWars, Corsi in 2004 published “Unfit For Command: Swift Boat Veterans Speak Out Against John Kerry,” criticizing then-presidential candidate John Kerry’s military record.

The subpoena requires Corsi to appear before Mueller’s Washington grand jury on Friday at 9 a.m. ET.
