CU Lawyer Used To Work For RNLA On ACORN, Other Issues

A lawyer — who now works for Citizens United and has a blog on Big Government — last year earned $36,000 from the Republican National Lawyers Association for “research and investigation.”

The lawyer, Chris Berg, wrote dozens of blog posts for the RNLA, on ACORN and other issues unrelated to election law, including EFCA and the Patriot Act.He also wrote an article for the RNLA magazine titled, “Clever and Contemptuous: A Review of ACORN’s Targeted Voter Registration Drives,” which identifies ACORN as an “international criminal enterprise.”

He was still blogging for the RNLA as of June, but is not listed on this year’s IRS filings.

At Big Government, he blogs about election issues like the Franken-Coleman recount (the RNLA worked on Coleman’s side during the recount) and unions’ political spending.

Reached at Citizens United, Berg said he could not immediately comment on his work for RNLA.
