Federal prosecutors from the Southern District of New York are seeking interviews with top executives at the Trump Organization, CNN reported on Tuesday.
Prosecutors have already interviewed at least two former staffers with the Trump presidential campaign about potential links to the Trump Organization, the report says.
Investigators purportedly asked about coordination between the campaign and the organization, and inquired about the company’s payment structure and financial interactions with the campaign.
While the exact focus of the inquiry is unclear, the report comes one day after prosecutors from the same office issued a wide-ranging subpoena to the Presidential Inaugural Committee that managed the Trump inauguration as part of an investigation into whether the committee took in foreign money.
The number of people subject to the interviews and their positions are unclear from the report.
