Lt. Col. Terrence Lakin is scheduled to be court martialed on December 14 after refusing orders to deploy to Afghanistan amid his questions about President Obama’s eligibility to serve as Commander-In-Chief. In the lead-up to the court martial, the American Patriot Foundation, the group that set up his legal defense fund, launched “Terry Lakin Action Week,” and invoked Nuremberg to argue Lakin’s case:
In a release, the APA asks supporters to relay their concerns to Congress: “With LTC Terry Lakin’s court-martial only one month out, the American Patriot Foundation is encouraging phone calls to Congress next week and to newly elected Members of the House and Senate.”
Lakin says he refused to deploy because he believes Obama’s orders are illegitimate since he may not be eligible to be President. Lakin’s case suffered a major setback in September when a judge ruled that evidence related to the President’s citizenship is not relevant to the case.
