A car in President Robert Mugabe’s motorcade rammed into a bus on Tuesday near the president’s home town of Zvimba, killing one person and injuring 15. According to police, the crashed occurred when the bus failed to heed the siren of the escort vehicles, leading to a head-on collision. “One passenger in the commuter bus died on the spot while 15 passengers from both vehicles were injured in the accident,” spokesman Wayne Bvudzijena told the AFP news agency. Just two weeks ago on another trip to Mugabe’s native Zvimba, a motorcycle in the presidential motorcade hit and killed a homeless man, BBC News reports.
