New York City mayoral hopeful Anthony Weiner said Monday that he knows what role his wife, Huma Abedin, will play in Hillary Clinton’s anticipated 2016 presidential campaign.
In an interview at BuzzFeed Brews, Weiner said that his actions have hurt his wife.
“I feel that what I have done has hurt her,” Weiner told BuzzFeed editor-in-chief Ben Smith. “Hurt her professionally, hurt her personally.”
When Smith asked Weiner if he knows how Abedin, a longtime aide to Clinton, will contribute a role in the former secretary of state’s expected White House bid, the former congressman played it coy.
“I do,” Weiner said. “I’m not telling you.”
