If Hillary Clinton’s first campaign event of the 2016 presidential cycle is any indication, political reporters may want to start conditioning with some sprints.
Clinton has been driving cross-country to Iowa in a van she’s nicknamed “Scooby” — it reminds her of the Scooby Doo Mystery Machine from the classic cartoon, an aide told CNN — since she announced her presidential campaign Sunday.
MSNBC’s camera caught the press corps Tuesday in Monticello, Iowa as they recognized and chased the “Scooby” van around the back of a community college building where one of the campaign’s roundtable events was scheduled to take place.
Alex Seitz-Wald, a reporter for the network, noted that aides likely tried to avoid that spectacle by not informing the press that Clinton would enter the building from the back.
