Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) will announce his presidential run on July 13 in Waukesha, a suburb near Milwaukee, according to Politico.

He will also file his FEC papers Thursday morning, sources say, making him the latest Republican to jump into the crowded 2016 field.

Walker’s announcement comes as he wraps up a tough budget fight with his state legislature. His decision to jump into the race comes months after he formed a exploratory committee in January.

  3. Wait…he hadn’t already? This guy has been in turbo campaign mode for months.

  4. Kinda like the Pope announcing that he’ll celebrate Easter Mass in St. Peter’s Square. Yeah, who could have seen that coming?

  5. –JULY 13–

I hereby officially abandon any pretense of being interested in anything about Wisconsin. So long, suckers, and thanks for letting me step all over you these last four-and-a-half years.
