Samantha Power, the United States’ newly sworn in ambassador to the United Nations, joined Twitter on Monday.

Power broke in her new account with a pair of tweets:

Honored to sit behind the sign that says “United States” and stand up for American values and interests at the UN.

I will aggressively push forward President Obama’s @UN agenda. Much to do on UN reform, human rights and dignity, and more.

Power was officially sworn in as ambassdor by Vice President Joe Biden last week.
