After claiming President Barack Obama’s response to the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history shows he’s secretly in league with terrorists, Republican Donald Trump did a victory lap Wednesday, saying he was “right” about Obama all along.

In a tweet where the presumptive nominee referred to himself in the third person, Trump slammed the media for falling “all over themselves criticizing” his remarks and linked to a story published at the conservative site Breitbart.

The Breitbart story claims then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton “received a classified intelligence report stating that the Obama administration was actively supporting Al Qaeda in Iraq, the terrorist group that became the Islamic State.”
The write-up was based on a 2012 Defense Intelligence Agency report obtained by the conservative legal group Judicial Watch in summer 2015.

As ThinkProgress points out, Breitbart writer Patrick Howley’s reading of the report was widely debunked when that report was declassified, with experts calling it an “unfounded conspiracy theory” that the Obama administration backed the budding Islamic State as part of a strategy to destabilize the Assad regime in Syria.
