President Donald Trump on Friday claimed he doesn’t “know Matt Whitaker,” the man he picked to serve as the acting attorney general, despite reports that the two met in the Oval Office at least a dozen times, along with former Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
Trump said that while he doesn’t know Whitaker, he knows he’s “very respected” in the law enforcement community.

I don’t know whether to laugh or cry.
The sheer audacity of stupid .
It’s always a great sign for your career longevity when Trump starts distancing himself personally. I’m starting to wonder if Whitaker will last the month… or the week.
This is starting to feel a bit like whatshisclown doctor getting the… was it the VA nod?.. for like ten minutes.
Obvious Trump shorthand for a collusive relationship he doesn’t want discovered. Felix Sater was the first of these strange, imperceptible Trumpworld entities but obviously far from the last.

“Whitaker’s ties to Sam Clovis take on a special relevance because of Whitaker’s new role overseeing the Russia probe. Why? Well, Clovis was the guy who chose both George Papadopolous and Carter Page to join the Trump campaign as unpaid foreign policy advisors in March 2016. According to court documents it was Clovis who told Papadopoulos “that a principal foreign policy focus of the Campaign was an improved U.S. relationship with Russia.” Page was reportedly working with Clovis when he got canned from the campaign in the summer of 2016 over his ties to Russia.”
