After Donald Trump published a tweet on Saturday threatening to invite Gennifer Flowers to the first presidential debate, his campaign on Sunday said that Flowers would not be at the debate as Trump’s guest.
“Donald Trump’s tweet was really mocking the fact that Hillary Clinton was trying to distract attention away from this moment in our national life,” Republican vice presidential candidate Mike Pence said on “Fox News Sunday.” “Gennifer Flowers will not be attending the debate tomorrow night.”
Trump threatened to invite Flowers after billionaire Mark Cuban said he would attend the debate to support Hillary Clinton. Following Trump’s tweet, Flowers, who had a sexual relationship with Bill Clinton in the 1990s, said she would attend the debate.
Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway also said Sunday that the campaign did not invite Flowers to the Monday night debate.
“We have not invited her formally, and we do not expect her to be there as a guest of the Trump campaign,” she told CNN.
Can someone explain to me why anyone would care that Gennifer Flowers would be attending a debate? It’s not like she’s a participant, or has been seen in about 15 years or so, or was especially relevant in the first place. She had sex with Bill Clinton. What, does that make her special or something? Does she really think that she’s the only woman outside of his marriage who had sex with Bill?
