The continued interruptions of Senate Democrats seeking to delay Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court confirmation hearings due to a last minute document dump prompted a sharp rebuke from Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX), the number two Senate Republican, who called their tactics “mob rule.”
Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), who had unsuccessfully requested a vote on his motion to adjourn the hearing, pushed back on Cornyn’s claim.
“Far from mob rule, far from contempt of the process. We’re simply asking for respect here, to the normal regular order,” Blumenthal said, in renewing a call for a vote on his motion to adjourn.
