A massive crowd is expected to attend a memorial Tuesday for the Arizona firefighters killed while battling a wildfire late last month, the Arizona Republic reported.
The memorial for the 19 Granite Mountain Hotshots is scheduled to be held at 2 p.m. ET in Prescott Valley, Ariz. and will be attended by both Vice President Joe Biden and Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer (R).
Roughly 30,000 people are expected to turn out to pay their respects, according to Paul Bourgeois, fire chief for the Apache Junction Fire District and state coordinator of a response team for the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. The site of the memorial, Tim’s Toyota Center, only seats 6,000, but two giant screens will be stationed outside the arena to accomodate the overflow crowd.
