An off-duty police officer’s gun was stolen after he left it behind in a mall bathroom, Memphis, Tenn. TV station WREG reported Thursday.

Memphis police reported that one of their officers had his gun stolen from him around 8 p.m. Monday night, according to WREG. At the time, the news station reported that the gun had been stolen out of the officer’s car while he worked a secondary job as a security officer at the Oak Court Mall.

WREG is now reporting that the gun was actually stolen after the officer, Lester Hobbs, left his gun on the towel holder in a men’s restroom while working security in the mall.

Security cameras in the part of the mall where the gun went missing weren’t working at the time and police still don’t have a suspect, according to the news station.
