The Tea Party Patriots Citizens Fund called Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) one of the “nastiest and most anti-Tea Party incumbents in America.”

That charge came in an endorsement of McConnell’s GOP primary opponent, Matt Bevin.

“It’s official. We just endorsed conservative Matt Bevin in his race against Mitch McConnell,” the Fund said in a statement released by the Bevin campaign. “We are going to launch an unprecedented grassroots campaign to help elect this great man…And he’s challenging one of the nastiest and most anti-Tea Party incumbents in America.”

Bevin has already scooped up other endorsements from prominent anti-GOP incumbent conservative outside groups like The Senate Conservatives Fund and The Madison Project. Those groups argue that McConnell is unwilling to go far enough in the fight against Obamacare and that he is staunchly anti-conservative.
