Alex Sink (D), who lost the special election for the late Rep. C. W. Young’s (R-FL) House seat on Tuesday night, said Thursday said she hasn’t ruled out running again in the November general election.

The former Florida Chief Financial Officer told the Tamp Bay Times that she is “keeping an open mind” about another bid for the seat.

She said that she does not yet have a timeline for making a decision about the race.

Sink hadn’t spoken with officials from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee about the race as of Wednesday, but she offered a few words about the seat to the Tamp Bay Times.

“It’s a 50-50 district but it still leans right because of gerrymandering,” she said. “But I still think Washington is broken and needs better people.”
