MSNBC host Joe Scarbrough on Friday once again accused the National Rifle Association of deliberately darkening President Barack Obama’s skin in a new ad.
It was the second consecutive day the conservative pundit levied such a charge. He expressed disbelief that some had questioned him — and not the pro-gun lobby — over the accusation. Scarborough assert that the ad, which targets Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) and features photos of Obama and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, was obviously manipulated to make the President look darker.
“Look at his hands,” Scarborough said on his eponymous program. “It looks like he is a coal miner from West Virginia. Look how dark they made his hands. Look at the side of his face. This is a question that answers itself.”
The NRA did not immediately respond to TPM’s request for comment.
