Former Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin suggested that Donald Trump lost the Iowa caucuses because he didn’t show voters enough of his “conservative side,” Yahoo! News reported Tuesday.

When asked why she thought Trump lost Iowa, she told Yahoo: “I think he just had to have seen more of his conservative side out, because Iowa’s so good and conservative.”

Palin recently endorsed the real estate mogul and traveled to Iowa on Monday to help him campaign in the Hawkeye State. But Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) ultimately was triumphant with 27.6 percent of caucus votes, leaving Trump in second place with 24.3 percent.

Palin told Yahoo while walking through the airport that she thought Trump still was “going to do well” in New Hampshire.
