TAMPA, Fla. — A group of top advisers to Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign claimed to have no knowledge about the identity of a “mystery guest” RNC organizers said has been added to the lineup of convention speakers Thursday night.
With the convention truncated by weather and the final result of the confab here — the nomination of Romney for president — preordained, the unknown guest gives people something new to talk about. And the Romney team wasn’t about to spoil the fun Tuesday.
On a panel set up by ABC News and Yahoo, four prominent Romney advisers including Eric Fehrnstrom and Beth Myers, the woman who vetted Romney’s VP picks, said they don’t know who the unnamed speaker will be.
