In New Hampshire today, Mitt Romney declined to weigh in on the standoff over the payroll tax cut extension in Washington, saying to do so would complicate the issue and that it’s not the place of the candidate to weigh in. The comment harkens back to John McCain’s disastrous “suspension” of his campaign in the fall of 2008.
