Romney Camp: Rick Santorum Called Mitt Before Suspending

Mitt Romney’s campaign confirmed to TPM Tuesday that Rick Santorum phoned Romney before announcing the suspension of his presidential campaign. Unlike fellow candidates Rick Perry and John Huntsman, who used their speeches exiting the contest to endorse another candidate, Santorum notably did not mention either Romney or Newt Gingrich in his speech announcing the end of his campaign.
