Romney And Santorum Go Back And Forth Over Earmarks

The Romney campaign has decided that hounding Rick Santorum on earmarks is a good strategy and have been going after Santorum on the subject all day. After an initial email this morning, the Romney campaign sent out an email clarifying that Mitt Romney is for a permanent earmark ban. Rick Santorum responded, saying, among other things, “There are good earmarks and bad earmarks. There are things that the Congress stood and fought for on a lot of programs and the administration got involved.” Romney hit back on that point with an email with the subject line: “A QUESTION FOR SENATOR SANTORUM: Are These ‘Good’ Earmarks Or ‘Bad’ Earmarks?”
