Report: Soldier Accused In Afghan Shooting Spree To Be Tried In U.S.

The U.S. soldier accused of killing 19 Afghan civilians — including nine children — will be tried in the U.S. despite Afghan demands that he be tried in Afghanistan, ABC News reports. The accused shooter, Staff Sgt. Robert Bales, met with his lawyer for the first time in a military prison in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, according to the report.
