Report: Rubio Hauls In $2.28 Million Using Joint Fundraising Committees

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) hauled in $2.28 million in the first quarter by using three joint fundraising committees – a tactic usually employed by national parties and presidential nominees, Roll Call reported Thursday.

“It’s obviously encouraging that so many grassroots conservatives from across the country are supporting Marco’s efforts to bring real conservative change to Washington,” a Rubio adviser said.

Rubio, widely considered to be running for president in 2016, has been on the forefront of an effort to reform the nation’s immigration system. The Florida Republican appeared on seven talk shows on Sunday pushing a yet-to-be-unveiled comprehensive plan on immigration.
