Huma Abedin, Hillary Clinton aide and wife of former Democratic Rep. Anthony Weiner, spent the last few months working as a part-time consultant for the State Department among other clients, Politico reported on Thursday:
The new status made her a “Special Government Employee”, which was tantamount to being a consultant, according to the source, whose information was confirmed by two other staffers familiar with the matter. Multiple sources told POLITICO she did work for other clients, which a friend of Abedin identified as four in total, including State: personal work for Hillary Clinton, the Clinton Foundation and Teneo, the firm founded by former Bill Clinton counselor Doug Band.
