If former Vice President Dick Cheney’s daughter, Liz Cheney, decides to enter the Republican primary for a U.S. Senate seat in Wyoming, she probably won’t have the support of Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY).
The New York Times reported on Saturday that Liz Cheney has been spending lots of time in the state recently as she considers running for the seat held by Sen. Mike Enzi (R). In response, Paul told Politico on Thursday that he considers Enzi a “good conservative.”
“I don’t know much about her or her politics, really,” Paul said of Cheney. “I am a friend of Sen. Enzi and while we aren’t exactly the same, I consider him a good conservative.”
Enzi is in his third term and is expected to run again in 2014.
