Paul: Clinton ‘Can’t Be A Champion of Women’s Rights’ With Husband’s Affairs

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) said at Thursday’s Fox News debate that he didn’t think Hillary Clinton was “responsible” for her husband’s sex scandals, but argued that she “can’t be a champion of women’s rights at the same time she’s got this that is always lurking out there — this type of behavior.”

Asked by Megyn Kelly if one should “hold the sins of the husband against the wife” in regards to Bill Clinton’s conduct, Paul insisted he never brings the topic up unless he is asked about it, and said he wouldn’t “blame Hillary Clinton at all for this.”

And yet …

“I do think the position promoting women’s rights and fairness to women in the workplace, that if what Bill Clinton did–any CEO in our country did–with an intern, with a 22-year-old, 21-year-old intern in their office, they would be fired. They would never be hired again,” Paul said, adding that they would be “shunned by their community.”

“And the thing is, she can’t be a champion of women’s rights at the same time she’s got this that is always lurking out there — this type of behavior. So it is difficult,” he said.

I fail to see the logic, or really lack thereof, in his argument. What the fuck is he talking about?

  2. … there he goes, letting the big dick think for the little dick again…

Just saw the clip - Rand Paul was momentarily a deer in the headlights - pooped in his pants just a bit & then threw together this nonsense in an effort to frame a criticism of Hilary

It’s just sad. The men behind the curtain need the giant flaming head.

  5. Rand Paul lives in a glass house full of hairline cracks, and he has assembled a catapult inside to launch bricks out at Hillary.

    From June 2015

Since 1980, the Republican party has been bedeviled by a persistent gender gap in presidential elections, as GOP nominees have struggled with female voters. But Rand Paul is facing an intensification of this phenomenon: He can’t even win over Republican women. A recent CNN poll … male primary voters; his 13 percent support put him neck-and-neck with top candidates… Yet among Republican women, Paul’s share of the likely vote collapses to 2 percent.

Why is Paul so unpopular among women? His recent treatment of female interviewers can’t help. In February, during an interview with CNBC’s Kelly Evans about vaccines, he put his index finger to his lips, shushed her, and said, “Calm down a bit here.” In April, he scolded “Today” host Savannah Guthrie for asking him about his shifting positions, telling her, “You’ve editorialized.” And then there are his positions on women’s issues: He sponsored a “personhood” law, voted against reauthorizing the Violence Against Women Act, and wants to ban abortion and defund Planned Parenthood.
