The 71-member Congressional Progressive Caucus will hold a Wednesday afternoon call with the White House for a briefing on Syria, according to a House Democratic aide.

The call is part of the Obama administration’s outreach to the Hill to win passage for the authorization to use force in Syria. Democratic sources have told TPM that the White House briefings are considered a key part of the plan for convincing skeptical caucus members that authorization is necessary.

The White House hosted congressional leadership Tuesday, earning the endorsment of House Democratic and Republican leadership, and is now taking its message to rank-and-file members.
