Sen. Rob Portman (R-OH) was one of two potential Mitt Romney VP picks to address the first day of the Faith And Freedom Conference in DC Thursday. Asked about the VP selection process after his speech he was coy.
“I hate to be boring,” Portman joked, playing up his persona, “but I’m not going to talk about that now.”
TPM asked Portman if having an Ohioan on the ticket would make it easier for Romney to win the Buckeye State.
“I don’t think it’s necessary,” Portman said with a smile.
