As a former catholic and present atheist, I wasn’t expecting to be so excited to watch this event but I was, and then seeing our President and his family so excited to see the Pope (especially the President who was smiling from ear to ear) was truly the highlight of my day today.

  2. Good stuff! I had two questions and someone gave me help. The Pope’s english is limited and he has never been to the US before. Too bad he can’t go incognito and learn about us before he speaks.

  3. I saw a bit of the airport greeting too.

I am looking forward to the Pope’s visit. I want him to forcefully speak his mind on the moral dimensions of the big issues facing us. I don’t expect to agree with everything he says, but I hope he can serve as an antidote to the holier-than-thou god-botherers whose smug moral superiority and spiritual pride masks their lack of soul and humanity.
