Former Charlotte Mayor Pat McCrory has a 47-37 percent lead over Democrat Walter Dalton in the race for North Carolina governor, according to a poll released Tuesday from Democratic-leaning Public Policy Polling (PPP). Libertarian candidate Barbara Howe also drew 5 percent support among those surveyed.
This poll, which surveyed 981 likely voters and had a 3.1 percent margin of error, is identical to what PPP found in its poll at the end of September. Both polls represent McCrory’s smallest lead since PPP found him with a six-point advantage at the end of August.
The PollTracker average shows McCrory with 49.1 percent and Dalton at 36.3 percent.
