On the eve of New Jersey’s special U.S. Senate election, a poll shows Newark, N.J. Mayor Cory Booker (D) maintaining his status as the favorite.

The latest survey from Quinnipiac University released Tuesday found Booker comfortably outpacing Republican Steve Lonegan, 54 percent to 40 percent.

Although polls in the last month have indicated that Lonegan has cut into Booker’s once-massive leads, the Democrat still appears poised to make it to the Senate. A pair of polls on Monday showed Booker with leads of 10 and 22 points.

The PollTracker Average shows Booker with a nearly 16-point edge.
