Ambassador Thomas Pickering and former Joint Chiefs Chairman Mike Mullen on Thursday sent a letter to House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-CA) offering to testify in public on the details of the Benghazi, Libya attack.
The two officials, who co-authored an independent review of the incident, declined, however, to submit to private interviews with committee stff prior to their testimony.
“The public deserves to hear your questions and answers,” they wrote in a letter, offering to appear before on either May 28 or June 3.
