A military mom was booed at a Nevada rally when she confronted vice presidential candidate Mike Pence about Donald Trump’s recent attacks on the Khan family.

“Time and time again, Trump has disrespected our nation’s armed forces and veterans. And his disrespect for Mr. Khan and his family is just an example,” a woman, identified by Politico as Catherine Byrne, told Pence at the event in Carson City, Nevada.

The crowd began to boo and shout at Byrne, drowning out part of her question to Pence, as a video of the event from Fox 10 Phoenix shows.

Byrne managed to finish her question to Pence amid the jeers, asking, “You have a son in the military, how do you tolerate this disrespect?”

Pence attempted to quiet the crowd and said, “That’s what freedom looks like, and that’s what freedom sounds like.”

He then addressed Byrne’s question.

“Capt. Khan is an American hero and we honor him and honor his family,” Pence said, according to Politico. “The story of Capt. Khan is an incredibly inspiring story.”

Pence added that there is “no one more devoted to the veterans in this country” than Trump.

“I have never been around someone more devoted to the armed forces of this country,” he said.
