House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said Sunday that there is “currently an assault on women’s health.”
“Women’s health is in danger…so we have to ever vigilant and fight for this,” she said in an interview broadcast on Meet The Press Sunday. “This is about respect for women and the judgement that women make and their doctors about their reproductive health.”
Pelosi’s comments came days after Republican Gov. Rick Perry called a special legislative session in Texas to pass a restrictive abortion bill, which was filibustered in the regular session after Democratic state Sen. Wendy Davis talked on the floor for nearly 11 hours to block its passage before the regular session ended.
