Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) was coy on House Republicans’ plans to punish Democrats for their sit-in on gun control in June, telling reporters at a press conference Wednesday, “You’ll see what we have when we have it.”
“Our goal here and our job is to protect this institution,” Ryan said. “Protect this institution, so democracy can work, so that the Republic can function and so that the House of Representatives can get its job done, and also so that we have comity here — so that Republicans and Democrats can actually talk with one another and be reasonable with one another.”
Republicans have called for some sort of sanction for House Democrats for the 25-hour sit-in, during which they say participants broke House rules by sitting on the chamber floor and using their cell phones. Democrats launched the demonstration to protest the refusal by GOP leaders to bring up certain pieces of gun control legislation
AshLee Strong, a spokesperson for Ryan, told reporters after Wednesday’s press conference that Republicans were conducting “robust review process” of the sit-in that included interviewing the Sergeant at Arms of the House of Representatives as well as members, some of whom were directly involved. She said House Republicans were going to discuss the investigation this week, so it was unclear what the timing of the next steps would be.
“We’ll announce it when we have it ready,” Ryan said at the press conference.

Sounds like the same time frame as they promised for a replacement for ObamaCare.
And we’ll have it ready right after you squirrel-brained media types have ceased to ask us about it.
Check back in 2023, eh? EH?
Rats. You beat me to it.
As soon as we are done with our milk and cookies (and maybe a nap) we’ll announce our reven…decision.
