Televangelist Pat Robertson offered some qualified praise for Kim Davis on Wednesday. Though he applauded the Kentucky county clerk for challenging the “criminalization of Christianity,” Robertson said Davis “is not exactly that champion we’d all want.”
The “700 Club” host called Davis a “heroine” for going to jail for her refusal to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples. According to Robertson, America “was founded as a Christian nation” but the right of Christians like Davis to practice their religion is being impinged upon.
“You go to jail if you believe in God and stand fast for your beliefs against the onslaught of secular humanism and the flood that comes about with it,” Robertson said.
Still, Robertson said that Davis, who is on her fourth marriage, may not be the ideal poster child for the anti-gay-marriage movement.
“Kim Davis is not exactly the champion we’d all want to stand up for our beliefs, but nevertheless she did it and she’s the heroine of the piece,” Robertson said. “There will be many, many others.”

Yes. We want some other more sellable fraud/martyr character to fleece the rubes with.
That harlot (by biblical definition) is not your champion? I can see that. What I cannot see is that there will be “many, many others”. (Just not that many crazy county clerks or wedding photographers or cake-bakers itching for an expensive legal fight.)
Pat : " But she’s taking the spotlight away from me " .
The whole “founded as a christian nation” line is the money shot here.
He’s a senile old fuck.
Well considering everybody else is your camp turns out to be an even bigger nut-bag hypocrite than Davis, she’s probably the best you’ve got.
