    I think I’m correct with this. Others more knowledgeable will let me know I’m sure, but it can be a bit – unintentionally – misleading to say that the president is “awarding” these MOH’s.

    The Army awards the medals. The president presents them to the recipients of the awards in a WH ceremony. He pins them around their necks.

    I say this because I’ve seen letters to editors or comments to the effect that the POTUS is “giving” these medals for some political gain, absurd as that charge may be.
