President Barack Obama issued a rebuttal to climate skeptics on Tuesday — many in the Republican aisle in Congress – who say that new regulations to curb green gas emissions would kill jobs and burden businesses: don’t understimate America’s ability to innovate.
“When we ended cancer-causing plastics, it didn’t kill off the plastic industry,” Obama said at what was billed as a major speech on climate at Georgetown University in Washington. “Don’t bet against American industry.”
“Don’t tell folks that we have to choose between the health of our children and the health of our economy,” he added.
