President Obama emphasized the importance of the foreign service during remarks at the State Department Wednesday. After condemning at the White House the attack that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and other U.S. diplomats, Obama at the State Department said the foreign service represents America well abroad. According to the pool report, Obama said he understands the value of the foreign service because he spent time abroad as a child.
