As Donald Trump continued to hurl attacks on the family of U.S. Army Captain Humayun Khan, President Barack Obama praised the sacrifice of American armed services members and their families Monday at the Disabled American Veterans convention.

“As Commander-in-Chief, I’m pretty tired of some folks trash-talking America’s military and troops,” Obama said in a thinly-veiled rebuke of Trump.

The President also said Gold Star families, who have lost a loved one in armed combat, “have made a sacrifice that most of us cannot begin to imagine,” and called them “the very best of our country. They continue to inspire us every day, every moment.”
