As Fox News pundit Bill O’Reilly sees it, President Barack Obama is only protecting implementation of his signature legislative achievement because he “looked weak on Syria.”

O’Reilly told fellow Fox host Gretchen Carlson on Wednesday that it was wrong for the Obama administration to object to a delay of the Affordable Care Act that’s being pushed by many Republicans.

“Everybody knows it’s not ready. You can’t even sign up if you want to,” O’Reilly said. “Look, there’s no embarrassment, I’m saying, that this huge, huge change is gonna take a little longer. That’s just logical.”

When Carlson asked why Obama opposed a delay, O’Reilly drew an explanation from the foreign policy arena.

“It’s Syria. That’s why,” O’Reilly said. “Because President Obama looked weak on Syria, he doesn’t wanna look weak here. That’s what it’s about. That’s what it’s about.”
