New York Times polling guru and bestselling author Nate Silver will deliver the address at the spring commencement ceremony for The New School, the institution announced Monday.
Silver will address graduates on May 24 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in Manhattan. In the press release announcing his role at the event, Silver praised The New School’s “legacy of informed, critical thought and free expression across disciplines.”
“The New School has earned a reputation of producing graduates who challenge received wisdom,” Silver said in the release. “I am honored to address a community with a legacy of informed, critical thought and free expression across disciplines.”
Silver made a star turn during the 2012 campaign. In December, the gay and lesbian magazine Out named Silver, who is openly gay, its person of the year.
